Specializing in

  • Somatic Trauma Therapy

Somatic trauma therapy invites the body into the healing process, helping you release stored stress and integrate past experiences through awareness, breath, and gentle presence.

This work restores your natural capacity for regulation, connection, and aliveness, building safety and trust from the inside out.

  • Sex Therapy

Drawing from wells of trauma-informed therapy training and my journey of reclaiming embodied feminine sensuality, I offer compassionate guidance for sexual healing.

We can address wounds of sexual trauma and the quieter trauma of societal norms that distance us from our natural aliveness and authenticity.

  • Psychedelic Integration

I offer support to help you process, trust, and make meaning of what your experience and unconscious revealed. Our sessions hold space for the mystery and complexity of being human, especially when the experience feels like more than your body can easily integrate.

A somatic approach is especially grounding, as these experiences live in the body, and the body itself sets the natural rhythm of integration.

Ariel with dog Lumi

Hi, I’m Ariel Reiner, trauma therapist in Portland, Oregon.

Traditional therapy stays in the mind, leaving the body out. My work fills this gap, bringing embodiment, sensual healing, and relational depth into the process.

In our work together, you can expect curiosity, depth, and collaboration. I meet you as a whole person, not just a set of symptoms or stories, and hold a space that honors both your strength and your tenderness.

Rooted in the ancestral wisdom of ritual and ceremony, the richness of my Jewish lineage, and a deep reverence for the sacred, I bring together numerous professional trainings with academic degrees in psychology, sociology, crisis and trauma intervention, and somatic psychotherapy.

More About Ariel Reiner

Occasionally, my dog Lumi makes his presence known during a session. He tends to bring warmth and levity to the space—and if that’s not your thing, that’s okay; it’s important we’re the right fit.

FAQ

  • Many kinds. Somatic therapy can support healing from developmental, relational, and sexual trauma, as well as chronic stress, grief, loss, or medical and birth trauma. It also helps with the subtler wounds of disconnection; times when you felt unseen, unsafe, or had to suppress parts of yourself to belong.

Each person’s story is unique, and my approach is always tailored to your individual needs and nervous system.

  • Each session looks different based on what’s showing up in the moment. We might talk, pause to notice what’s happening in your body, or use breath, movement, or visualization to deepen awareness.

I’ll introduce somatic tools and interventions as they naturally arise, helping you stay connected, grounded, and curious throughout the process.

  • Everyone’s process is different. Many people begin to feel more present, grounded, and regulated during or soon after each session, while deeper shifts take time as your nervous system learns new patterns of safety and connection.

We build on this over time, allowing each session to deepen your capacity for regulation, trust, and lasting change, all at a pace that feels safe and sustainable.

  • Yes. Somatic therapy translates beautifully to online sessions. Even through a screen, we can track body sensations, breath, and emotional cues, creating a safe and attuned space for healing and connection from the comfort of your own home.
